Frequently Asked Questions
Is Treasure her real name?
Yes!
Are you all opticians?
We currently have four full-time licensed opticians and one optician-in-training.
Do you provide eye exams?
We currently do not have a doctor on-site. We do, however, work closely with several in the area and would be happy to send some recommendations your way.
How much are lenses?
There are lots of factors to consider when pricing your lenses- materials, features, frame choice, and your particular prescription itself. We would love for you to stop by for a quote, but we will be happy to assist you by phone or email as much as possible too.
Can I use my current frame for new lenses?
Sure! We will do a thorough examination of your frame to make sure that it appears to be in good working order and will hold another set of lenses.
Do you file insurance?
We do not currently file any insurance as payment. We will be more than happy to provide itemized statements with proper insurance coding and assist with any necessary forms you may need to fill out in order to file for out-of-network reimbursement. We try to keep our prices lower on the front end as well to assist those without coverage.
Can I use my FSA (Flexible Spending Account) for eyeglasses?
In most cases, yes! All FSA plans are different, so we definitely recommend making sure before shopping, but they do typically cover vision care services and products.
How much are adjustments?
There is never a charge for a frame adjustment. We will always check over your frame and make sure that all components, including screws and nose pads, are in working order too.
Can you fix my broken frame?
We will certainly try! We keep tons of parts and pieces on-hand to get you by in a pinch. Stop by anytime for repairs whether you purchased them from us or not.
When does my prescription expire?
Most prescriptions have a written expiration date. If it does not, we will honor it for two years from the exam date. Legally in North Carolina, we can also duplicate the prescription from a current pair of your glasses.
How long does it take for my glasses to be ready once I place my order?
Most single vision glasses are ready within 3-4 business days. Progressives and bifocals are typically ready within 7-10 days. Some specialty lenses and options may take a bit longer, but we do our best to let you know an accurate time frame upfront.
What is your warranty policy?
All brand new frames will come, at no extra charge, with at least a one-year warranty. Most come with two-year coverage for any defects. The warranties, unfortunately, do not cover loss or obvious abuse.
All lenses are covered for wear-and-tear scratching giving you one free replacement within one year of your purchase date. Crizal coatings offer two-year coverage- one free replacement per year for two years from the date of your purchase.
Non-prescription sunglasses will carry at least a one-year warranty through the manufacturer.
My prescription doesn’t feel quite right- what should I do?
Sometimes it can take a few days to really relax into a new prescription. If you are still feeling funny, come by and let us take a look to see if we can make any adjustments to help out. We can always send you back to your doctor for a recheck too. You have sixty days from your date of purchase for us to change your prescription one time completely free of charge. All we need is your new prescription!
What if I don’t love my new frame?
No problem! Let’s make sure that your prescription is working well for you first. As mentioned above, we have sixty days from your date of purchase to make a prescription change. We can also switch out your frame within that same sixty days even if you don’t have a change and just aren’t loving it. You are guaranteed for everything we do!
Can I buy glasses without any prescription in them?
Sure! Whether you are just looking for a fashion statement or something to help cut glare on the computer, we can make it. You will have all the same options for non-prescription as you would if you did need a little help seeing.
Do you sell gift certificates?
We sure do! We think glasses and sunglasses make AMAZING gifts!
Where are your lenses made?
Our main lab is located in Syracuse, NY- they make all of our specialty lenses including bifocals and progressives. Our lab that specializes in stock lenses and contacts has several locations across the country.
How do I clean my glasses properly?
We recommend rinsing with water every possible chance before cleaning to remove all the dust and dirt. You may then use a non-abrasive, gentle soap or our cleaning spray along with a high-quality paper towel or a clean, soft cloth. We recommend using glasses wipes only when water isn’t available.
Do you accept donations of gently used glasses and frames?
We would love to have them! We keep lots of parts and frames here to assist our community who are in desperate need of glasses or repairs.
